 What inspired you in the creation of this game?

This idea was inspired by Guinness records. There are various human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. Competition is part of humankind. These unbelievable records and talented people irresistibly attract the interest of younger generations. People like when they can create something new and unique or being able to do something that is extraordinary. In this game students can share what they got.

 

Preliminaries

Number of players: any

Age/ Proficiency Level: any (pupils who have already learnt comparatives and superlatives)

Preparation Time: 2 minutes

Play Time:15-20 minutes

 Separate students into groups of three or four

 

Object of the game

The goal of this game to earn as many points as you can. The group with the highest score will win.

 

Roles

The group works together and creates records that no one can beat in this class.

 

Rules of Play

The teacher separates the class into groups.  Each team will write sentences about their talents; in which they can break a record as a team or the individuals in the group. The participants have to come up with four sentences. The claims should contain 1 true and 1 false sentence, so the other two can be varied as they wish. For example: If we sum our height we would be the tallest in this classroom. Only in this group can everyone speak German. Sarah has the longest hair. No one knows how to crochet.

Scoring

 

If the sentence is true and also correct	2 points
If the true sentence is incorrect	0 point
If one of the other groups can prove that the sentence is false and the group is not the record holder, than the group who proved it can get	1 point
If the sentence is false but correct, and the other groups have believed it is true	2 point
If the sentence is false and also has mistakes	-1 point
